Bachelor of Commerce（BCom）- UCW

For students who are interested in business but are not ready to commit immediately to accounting, marketing or technology management, this four-year BCom offers a route that begins broadly and becomes more focused over time. The curriculum starts with academic writing, business fundamentals, business analytics, economics, mathematics and accounting, then moves into statistics, marketing, organizational behaviour, management information systems, finance, operations, business law, sustainable business and strategic decision-making.

For international students, the practical question is not only what business subjects appear on the course list, but how students are expected to use them. UCW identifies lectures and discussions, academic literature, case studies and team activities as key learning methods. In the hybrid program, each course is normally scheduled for 2.5 hours of on-campus class and 1.5 hours of online guided learning per week during weeks 1–10 of a 12-week term, with revision, examinations and culminating evaluations in weeks 11–12. Career Preparation and a final Capstone Project provide later opportunities to connect analysis, communication and collaborative work.

Students can follow the general BCom pathway or choose a specialization in Accounting, Marketing or Technology Management. Course planning should account for prerequisites, annual course rotations and longer-term goals. Students considering CPA-related preparation, marketing, technology management or international trade should discuss their sequence with an Academic Advisor early. The program may suit learners who are comfortable working with numbers, cases, writing and group assignments while gradually clarifying their direction within business. Its curriculum can support academic and career planning, but it does not guarantee a professional designation or a particular job after graduation.
