From Fanshawe College’s Registered Massage Therapy program, has been honored with the Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year Award by the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). Recognized for her expertise and innovative teaching, Skolny has significantly advanced massage therapy education. Beyond her role at Fanshawe, she has served as a guest lecturer for the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario, showcasing her commitment to the profession.The AMTA praised Skolny’s engaging and inclusive teaching style, noting, “She’s an exceptional teacher cherished for her positive learning environment and genuine interest in students’ well-being.” Her leadership in the InReach program, partnering with Fanshawe’s varsity athletes and St. Joseph’s Hospital Breast Care Program, provides students with valuable hands-on experience, preparing them for successful careers. Skolny’s thoughtful curriculum design has further strengthened the program, as highlighted by Associate Dean Stacey Pipicelli: “Tracie’s contributions to the InReach program and Massage Theory courses are outstanding, building a well-scaffolded program.”Expressing her gratitude, Skolny said, “Receiving this award is an honor.
